Almost the Worst # 5: dying without forgiveness

Everyone always tells you:

Things could be worse.
They say:
It's not the worst thing that can happen.

I assume I will die on a summer day

and that evening the sunset will never run out.
It may be the last day on Earth.
It will definitely be mine.

One day she told me all her secrets.

One night she asked: Will the meek really inherit the Earth?

The next morning she said:

Can we just forget I said that,
pretend like we never talked about it?

People will tell you:

It's not the worst thing that can happen.
People will tell you you might die without forgiveness
and then they will pretend like they never brought it up.
